NCCESB & DNCC: Business And Employment Chiefs Welcome Drop In Unemployment
NCCESB and Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce's reaction to the Labour Market Stats released 16th May 2012.
A key element of our City Strategy work was a research programme that would further develop our knowledge and understanding of our labour market, and enable us to identify appropriate solutions for the most disadvantaged of Nottingham's minority communities, including some of the newer ethnic communities whose needs may not be considered in our more traditional ‘BME' employment activity.

This research identifies and improves understanding of the physical (transport) barriers to accessing employment and training in Greater Nottingham.

Qualitative Research
Interviews and focus groups with a range of disadvantaged BME groups informed the qualitative research which focused on perceptions of the employment situation and employment support services.

research examined national policy and good practice relating to BME
employment and looked at employment trends at a local level using
population data and information from the Nottingham Employment Zone.

The Child Poverty Research was divided into data analysis and policy analysis.
Data
The data
analysis used tax and benefits data to analyse the numbers of children
living in workless or low income households both in Nottingham City and
in the wider conurbation.
