NCCESB and Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce's reaction to the Labour Market Stats released 16th May 2012.
The NCCESB is committed to developing a sector-based approach to help inform and target the market interventions of partners and stakeholders. A central objective of this approach has been to bring about a balance between the demand and supply of a suitably qualified workforce in each sector and thereby add to the general prosperity of Nottinghamshire and its people.
Experian were commissioned to build upon existing work to provide the Employment and Skills Board (ESB) with the evidence required to accurately and objectively prioritise sectors in Nottinghamshire.
Through the development of a conceptual framework and the analysis of a variety of official and
propriety data sets, this document outlines the key sectors that we recommend should be prioritised to prepare the County for the upturn and beyond.
Several sectors have been identified as priority sectors for Nottinghamshire. These are:
These sectors all form a significant proportion of the local economy, both in terms of output and employment, are the sectors that will drive a strong future for Nottinghamshire's economy.
