Nottinghamshire Fit for Work Service

"Working together to tackle health issues and stay in work"

In April 2010, The NCCESB was one of 11 successful applicants to receive funding to set up a pilot for a health service to support local people and their employers to stay healthy and in work.

The Nottinghamshire Fit for Work Service was launched as a three strand service covering Ashfield, Mansfield and Nottingham. Practical support for individuals was delivered through the Work Survival (modular courses designed to help manage health at work) and Support in Work services whilst employers were able to access independent advice and support from a well known employment law firm through the Working for Health strand.

The Nottinghamshire Fit for Work Service was one of a handful of the original pilots that was awarded a 2 year extension in March 2011. The focus has now been revised to cover one strand of the original service; Support in Work. Run by a team of highly specialised registered health professionals and clinical support workers, the service provides dedicated One to One support for those struggling with health issues impacting their ability to stay in employment.
