NCCESB & DNCC: Business And Employment Chiefs Welcome Drop In Unemployment
NCCESB and Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce's reaction to the Labour Market Stats released 16th May 2012.
TARGET: 205 additional work experience placements for anyone
Work Experience Placements help young people gain the experience they need to secure a job. For some young people a lack of understanding of the world of work or simply not being given a chance to prove themselves can prevent them from finding a job. Through this initiative, 18 – 24 year old job seekers are offered a Work Experience Placement lasting from two to eight weeks, giving them the opportunity to overcome these barriers.
There is also an opportunity for some participants to have their placement extended by up to 4 weeks, where an employer makes an offer to take them onto an Apprenticeship. Project 365 aims to facilitate a major campaign advertising work experience placements and the value they bring, encouraging businesses to offer these work placements to young jobseekers aged between 18 and 24 years old.
